26.2 Miles - Marathon Complete!

Today Kristi completed the goal she has been diligently working towards for the better part of a year - she slayed the giant, she went the distance, she knocked it out of the park, she conquered the mother load of running a marathon. That's right, all 26 miles, 385 yards of it. Needless to say, I am very proud of her. Of all the athletic things I have done throughout my life, I've always said that I couldn't do a marathon . . . well, now my wife has done just that. She's been so discipline and faithful in her running workouts. It didn't matter if it was 15 degrees outside in January or if it was blowing snow in her face for a 20 mile training run, she trained every day she was supposed to and stuck it through to the end. Now she can say she's a marathoner!

Congratluations Kristi!!
Kristi & Carina's cheering section at mile 20.

All of Kristi's fans.

Kristi & Carina at the finish line.

All smiles when it was all over.

That is so awesome!!! I am very happy for you because that is so hard and quite an accomplishment. I do not have that discipline or drive so I really admire those who do! That is so great of Craig to document it so well!

Way to go Marathoner!!! I soooo hope I get to do that someday. Maybe Fall 2010...do you have a copy of your running schedule? If so, will you send it to me? You looked like you were feeling great afterwards and I'd love to prepare the same way. What a great time, too! You rock!
