Just across the finish line - all smiles.
Almost there - the finish line in sight!
Running with a smile around mile 17This past Saturday Kristi worked through the pain, never walked, never stopped, and never quit until she reached the 26.2 mile finish line of the Top of Utah marathon. I'm not sure how she does it?! She's always been a whimp with everything else - just kidding!! Here are some words from Kristi that described her experience:
The marathon went well. I am proud of myself for finishing. It felt harder than the Salt Lake Marathon I ran in April. I felt pretty good at the beginning and middle up to mile 17 and then it got really hard. No matter what I tried I could not speed up. I started to get discouraged knowing that I was not going to meet my goal time and was very tempted to stop and walk because my legs and feet hurt so bad. But I made myself keep on going and that is what I am most proud of. Even though it was tough and I wanted to walk, I kept on running and I finished! My official time 4:57 - I'm so happy I was under 5 hours!!!
While we were up in Logan, Savannah's Grandma Colyar took Savannah to her soccer game. Savannah scored 3 goals!!! Two for her team and one for the other team. When I asked her why she scored a goal for the other time she said, "Because I am nice and kind." This is very true.
