So here's a quick blurb about the Salem Tri that me and my brother Chad participated in on May 30th. This is the second time we've done this triathlon, but last year it rained and they cancelled the bike leg and shortened the swim. So, this was to be the first full half mile, open water swim in wetsuits that we'd be doing. We were all geared up to start when we realized that the gun had gone off for our wave. We were all chillin' on the dock with the 35-39 year old group when we realized we were supposed to be in the water. So we threw on the goggles and hit it. The swim was definitely the hardest part of the race. Chad and I did the bike part together - which is always fun - and then we got a little separated on the run but still finished within a minute of each other. Overall, we both finished in the top half of the 30-34 age division; which had 72 participants. I had vowed this would be my last triathlon for awhile, but this one went so well that I'm thinking of going after it again. We'll see. Thanks to Kristi and all the family that came to cheer us on. Somehow my mom has more action photos that I haven't seen yet. But here's a couple of shots.
