Oops... I'm Embarrased!

Sorry that I'm a lame-o blogger! I put up that last post as a joke for Craig planning to post a real one afterwards but then I ran out of time. Now a whole week has gone by, I haven't put up a real post and I still don't think Craig has even seen that other post to get a good laugh. So, for all of you who do check our blog I apologize for A) not posting for a month and B) being a dork.

One reason I haven't posted in such a long time is that it seems like not much is going on. I spent most of January cleaning my house, nursing, changing diapers, nursing, playing dress up, nursing, cooking dinner, and the like. I don't mind doing these things, I just don't feel like it would be very interesting to write or read about.

Probably the highlight of January was the weekend we went up to Rexburg to visit my sister Lynne and her family. It is always fun to be with Lynne and Andy and their kids. I feel completely at home with them and the time always goes too fast. While we were in Rexburg we went to the temple open house. The temple is beautiful (of course) and I loved the wheat motif since Rexburg is surrounded in wheat fields. Very appropriate!

We enrolled Savannah in a class called Itty Bitty Sports put on by the city. They practiced basketball, t-ball, and volleyball. Craig was really excited about it. Savannah was 1 of 2 girls in the class with about 12 boys. She participated pretty good but at least for now, sports is not the love of her life. We might try a tumbling or dance class next month and see if it fits her interests more. She did enjoy doing the class with her cousins Ethan and Blake. Savannah has continued attending her Music and Motion class. She always looks forward to going to the classes and I'll hear her singing songs I haven't ever heard before so I am confident she is learning something.

Justin is 2 months old now and I think he is getting pretty cute! He smiles easily and has done a few little giggles. He can melt my heart with a single coo. He has been sleeping in his big crib in his own room for a week now. He is doing good at night, waking up one or two times to eat but then goes right back to sleep. His newest trick... sucking his thumb. I'm not sure what to think about it. Being a thumbsucker as a child, I know it can be a very difficult habbit to break... but I think it is cute so I haven't tried to stop it. I guess I will let nature take it's course.

Me and Justin the day he turned 2 months old.

Savannah loves to play "make believe". Here she and Justin are pretending to be kitties.

Sucking away!

My happy boy!

Hey Craig... You can get off my back now!

For the past few weeks Craig has been on my back about putting up another post. I thought I'd post this just so Craig won't bug me anymore about it.

Love you Craig!

Who does he look like?

I found some old photos of me, Craig, and Savannah to see if there are any similarities between Justin and us. What do you think?

My sister Lynne took these pictures of Justin on his one month birthday. I think Lynne always does a fantastic job at taking pictures. Thanks Lynne!

December in Utah

I am not a huge fan of the cold. Actually, I don't like it at all. So I wasn't super excited about moving back to Utah where they have real winters. But... I love that Savannah gets to experience the winter. She has had a lot of fun playing in the snow and the cold doesn't seem to bother her. Daily I find her silkie blanket in the freezer because "it is too hot" and she likes it cold. Since I spent a significant amount of my childhood playing in the Alaskan snow I love seeing Savannah playing in the snow. There are supposed to be 3 snow storms this week. I can't wait!

Here is one of Justin's latest smiles. We can't quite "make" him smile yet but he seems to smile quite often on his own. Then again, Savannah who is fully capable of smiling WILL NOT smile AND look at the camera at the same time. It is such a shame because she has always been photogenic. But even if she is pulling a crazy face, I still think she is a cutie pie!

9 days later...

Savannah dreaming of the beach???

Smiling in his sleep.

1 week old

Alrighty. It has only taken me 9 days to get back into the swing of things. I've finally checked my email, downloaded my photos, and checked up on a bunch of blogs for the first time since Justin was born. Thanks to everyone who wrote such nice and supportive comments on our blog. It is so fun to hear from our friends and family near and far.

This week was my first week at home alone with two kids. Craig had to return to work on Monday and I was a bit nervous to see how the day would go. To put me to the test, Justin woke up that morning with his eye gooped shut. I took him to the doctor and he just has a blocked tear duct. But of course I was thinking he somehow already got pinkeye or that his eyeball had exploded (there was lots of oozing puss). So far so good though being a mom of two. We did have one moment that all 3 of us were crying at the same time but we are surviving.

Savannah is really cute with Justin. She is eager to help out however she can. She is good at entertaining Justin when he is crying. I love watching a little relationship develop between the two of them. It makes me want more kids, until I realize my youngest is 9 days old!

Savannah's Playground featuring J.Z.

It's 3 days home from the hospital and all is well. Kristi is up and at it and Justin is getting the hang of things here at Savannah's pad. I have really enjoyed taking some time off during Justin's arrival. I've spent some great time with the family and watched more sports than in any 5 day period of my life!! Unfortunately, the dream life ends tomorrow and it's back to work. Happy Holidays everybody. I hope we can continue to be in touch.
